Shayla Mitchell has experience working in the film industry which includes art and camera departments, photography, and post production.
Shayla attended Full Sail University and graduated with her Bachelor's of Science degree in Film in, and has been working hard towards furthering her career since. While at film school she learned and experienced all the different aspects of filmmaking, which helped her discover what she truly has a passion for.

Shayla started to really become interested in the art side of things when she was involved with her high school's theater program and working on prepping and dressing the stage. While attending film school and getting herself associated with scripts and becoming a part of art departments it made her realize how much more she loved working on them and creating the sets. She now gets more involved in Art/Set dec departments, for example being the Set Dresser for the band R5's music video "Smile" for the Special Olympic World Games, and Set Dresser on a Hallmark Christmas movie called “Broadcasting Christmas”.
She found her love for the camera at a young age with taking pictures and video, and then with furthering her education Shayla became even more interested in the movements of operating the camera and filming a scene with shooting short films, documentaries, and taking on-set photography. She took set photography for the cooking show Farmhouse Rules on the Food Network.

She also enjoys being involved with post production and editing projects together if she shot the footage or not. She started recording video on her point and shoot camera when she was younger and spent many hours editing the footage together using a cheap editing program. Now Shayla has edited films in Final Cut and Avid Media Composer, and Media Managed for a TV show "Baggage on the Road" on The Gameshow Network.
While on sets Shayla tries to help out in the departments that she is most interested in, trying to work her way up in the industry and learning as much as she can. Since out of school she has worked on various TV shows such as "American Idol", "The Great Christmas Light Fight", "House Hunters", "America's Got Talent", and networks including FOX, ABC, HGTV, Showtime, A&E, The Food Network, The Cooking Channel, Animal Planet, ESPN.

Shayla also worked with a company Incrediflix, where she was instructing film camps with kids. These included Live Action, Stop Motion, and Talk Show projects. With the live action short films they started with brainstorming and coming up with different story ideas, to storyboarding, talking location, props, costumes, and then to the kids working behind the camera and acting in front of it. Shayla was the Director, Camera Operator, and she also edited the projects.

Shayla is a driven hard worker who can take or give direction towards a successful production. Every day she is experiencing and learning more and more. Shayla hopes you take the time to check out her work and to get the opportunity to work with you down the road.
